Public Balloon Viewing Test
We will be hosting a public balloon viewing test on the Shoreline property to see what an object looks like on the complex site line at 60’ tall (the proposed complex height). We’ll be verifying the length of 3 sets of ribbons/balloons are 60’ to 66’ and confirm the site line placement of the balloons for viewpoint accuracy. We’ll also have balloons indicating a 3-story building to compare.
We would like as many neighbors to come out to view and take photos/video from Yorkmont Cir. and Lake Gardens. As a trial run, we conducted a test to see what a 4-story complex looks like compared to a balloon at 60’ in height. As you can see in the attached photo, the balloon is significantly higher. Taken at the Lookout Apartments @ Skillman & Walnut Hill.
Town Hall Meeting hosted by D9 Plan Commissioner Michael Jung
D9 Commissioner Michael Jung will host a town hall meeting at the Harry Stone Recreation Center to discuss the Shoreline rezone from the Plan Commission/Zoning stance, factoring height, density, traffic impact, etc. The Plan Commission does not factor in how the development is financed, so please do not ask about the PFC.
However, Mr. Jung has stated that he takes public opinion very seriously when making his decision. It is critical for you to - respectfully - let him know your feelings on the matter in person at this meeting, and/or via email, and signing the online petition (we’ll also be providing a mail-in petition that will be distributed throughout the neighborhood). Jung’s denial would be our greatest hope of redesigning this into a more compatible and less intrusive development.
Shoreline Property Community Meeting
Please join us to address the Shoreline Church property proposed rezone to build for a 4-story, 310 unit, mixed-use/mixed-income apartment.
