Lochwood President’s Letter
Dear Lochwood Neighbors,
Happy New Year from the Lochwood Neighborhood Association (LNA)! Thanks to all of you who put your passion, talent, and money to work during 2023 to enhance this amazing neighborhood. You have advanced our three primary objectives of SAFETY, COMMUNITY and BEAUTIFICATION. One page 2 of this letter I have highlighted several events & initiatives and those who spearheaded them. THANK YOU! And thanks to all who came alongside to assist, to those who participated, and to those who supported financially.
Your financial donations enable us to support many of these events & initiatives.
The Extended Neighborhood Patrol (ENP) program is the major beneficiary of the LNA funds. We average close to 35 hours of patrol by a uniformed officer in a DPD cruiser each week. Any time you are out of town, be sure to call the ENP phone number (214) 478-3678, leave the dates you will be away and how you can be contacted. They will stop by your house during each of their patrols. They will walk the perimeter of your home, and call you if the situation warrants.
Second to ENP, the next highest expense is the maintenance of the flower beds. In 2023, we opened another new flower bed in Lochwood Park at the corner of Lochwood and Ferndale. We now have 2 beds at Lochwood Park, and 1 at the Lake Highlands entrance on Ferndale. We also have a secondary bed at the corner of Creekmere and Easton
The LNA P&L statement for 2023 has been posted on our website lochwood.com.
In 2023, we came very close to having to cut back on the ENP budget. The homeowners in Lochwood who participate in the membership campaign have been very generous. However, the participation is less than 25%. If you participated in 2023, I hope you will continue to participate in 2024. If you didn’t participate in 2023, I invite you to help us by giving us a donation in 2024. We have a number of ways to donate. The enclosed membership form is for donors who wish to pay by check. If you want to pay online or by credit card, the information is available on our web site.
